How to Confuse Your Senses? [2]
How to Confuse Your Senses?
Projectweek 12/10/2009 - 16/10/2009
Willem de Kooning Art Academy, Rotterdam, NL
It's the final presentation of a week-long workshop that I've been giving this week.
The theme of the assignment:
How to confuse the sense of smell and/or taste, by means of the visual sense?
(5) presentation by Dorith
[experimentation]
experimentation on how the sense of hearing influences the sense of smell
Let a test person smell the same fragrance while she/he is listening to two totally different types of music (heavy metal + classic)
* the test person does not know that she/he is smelling the same smell
* in order to shut the sense of sight she/he is wearing the blindfold
Does the impression of the smell differs if you're listening to the different type of music?
The answer was yes.
The test person was thinking that she was smelling two totally different fragrance. She was shocked.
It was a very good presentation with the clear instructions and explanations.
(6) presentation by Mariela + Andrea
How it was presented was pretty well done, with a glass of wine and silvers.
